No wait on a Saturday afternoon. Plus. 3 people helping a woman with a kid that had a bloody nose that morning while I wince to breath. Minus. Was seen quick. CT scan took a while as they pushed 3-4 people more needing ahead of me. No issue with that. Doc was thorough, knowledgeable and communicative. Huge Plus.
Without a doubt the dirtiest emergency room I have been in (I have seen a lot). MT Sinai. Aren’t you embarrassed? Has that emergency room ever been cleaned? Dirt, hair, mold. Take some pride in ownership. This is a HOSPITAL. Huge minus.

We came in a different entrance since the cab didn’t know where to go, but the security person provided a wheelchair and guided us to the triage desk. We were taken right in and got to see a nurse immediately, got X-rays and saw a doctor within 10 minutes. The medical staff was caring and efficient. The administrative staff was Ok, all things considered. The issue would be more with hospital policy on what payments they can accept. It gets in the way of getting help. That’s a shame. All in all an efficient and well executed ER experience.

I unfortunately had to visit Mt Sinai West ER with signs of miscarriage during my visit in New York. Although things did not turn out well for me after leaving the ER, I really appreciated the care and kindness of Dr. Christopher Reverte, Dr. Ryan Renacci, the nurses, the ultrasound tech, and the staff that I met with. The visit lasted for about 5 hours, which I understand was typical for an emergency room. Thank you for all the work you do!

There is no reason this place is empty and runs so slow and incompetent. Had 3 different doctors speak to us which took hours to even get a result on anything, had to get blood drawn TWICE just for them to lose the blood because the nurse ran out on her break and her coworker could not bother to put it in and have it sit at a cart for 2 hours. Just to tell us everything we need to know AFTER 5 hours (messed up on IVs, causing a small mess of blood all over my partner and had us sitting while talking to each other for those hours to not give an update) very much a waste of time

Ok, let’s be clear…it’s an ER in New York City…so there’s that.
You will probably encounter homeless people depending on when you arrive but this can happen anywhere.
I came in on Wednesday at 4:15p with severe pain in my bladder and abdomen after having had surgery on Monday and I was seen right away. I left around 8:30p but I expected to be there for hours because let’s face it, that’s how ERs typically work no matter what state you’re in.
The doctors were very attentive and kind to me and listened to what I had to say. They did my bloodwork as well as an ultrasound and prescribed me proper pain meds.
The nurses were professional and kind as well, not necessarily friendly, but not mean either.
There could definitely be more care put into the cleanliness of the place in general, the bathroom needed a good disinfecting and walls could use some fresh paint, but I didn’t feel unsafe or grossed out.
