(This is a review for 09/04/2024)-
Same experience as the review before mine from Ian Peralta)
The worst experience my husband and I have ever had in a hospital’s emergency room. He woke up with excruciating back pain, he could not move at all. We had to call an ambulance and he was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital. The ambulance service, as nice as they were, was disappointing. We are from Europe and we had a similar experience in London and he was given something (laughing gas) for his pain because he clearly could not move an inch of his body. They came prepared and had the tools to help. This time, he had to be pushed in a way that probably hurt his back even more. His pain went from 7/10 to 9/10. We then were at the ER from 9am to 9pm, 12 hours. It took them more than 2 hours to see him and give him any medication for his pain. He was at the verge of passing out, and it was incredibly painful and frustrating for me to see all sorts of medical professionals walking around very calmly, and laughing and chatting about what they are going to do during Thanksgiving while he was completely unattended and in the worst pain he has ever felt. When he was finally seen after having to complete the same paperwork three times, it was a relief to see that his pain got more manageable with medication. Finally. Then we had to wait another 4 hours to get an MRI, which in a way can be understandable in an emergency situation. Still, quite long. But after that NOTHING for 6 more hours. He was supposed to be seen by an spine specialist that NEVER arrived. All of this time, he was not allowed to eat until being seen by this specialist. He was told he has an herniated disc, and he was given pain killers. And that’s all the treatment we got in 12 hours.
I do have to say that we got a nurse called Erin that was very nice and she looked after him kindly in the limited time she had. And there was a very kind assistant (I wish I knew his name) that came a few times to offer socks and pillows or blankets, and he was much appreciated. These two people were the exemption to the rule. Other people were dismissive and ignored us while they had no shame chatting about their person lives.

Came in for heat exhaustion after biking around Central Park on an insanely hot day and not drinking gatorade. Duh!! EMS in Central Park, ambulance staff, and hospital staff were all stellar. Super-professional, calm, polite, and very nice. Hospital ER was kinda nuts with tons of people coming in and out, but doctors and nurses kept their cool under pressure and took care of me as soon as they could. Got out of there in a few hours after they checked me thoroughly to make sure I was good to go. I was very impressed by their professionalism and thankful to them for taking care of me and saving my life. Highly recommend!

I came to the ER for lower back and urinary problems. The staff that attended to me which included the medical doctor and nurse i was assigned to ordered a CT Scan, Ultrasound, and Transvaginal Ultrasound. Everything came back normal. I just ended up just having a really bad case of vaginitis to the point i told the Nurse that she can just take my Vagina off and send it to the black market, because it was so irritated. The nurse and doctor did an amazing job with me! I had Nurse Diana Reyes and MD Maureen Condon who helped me with my GYN issues. The wait time was extensive but it was all WORTH IT IN THE END. IAM GRATEFUL FOR BOTH LADIES

My boyfriend went to this ER due to having extreme stomach pain. waiting more than 5 hours to never get a catscan. he asked to please remove the iv bc he was tired of waiting and not being taken care of, the young nurses were just worried about being on their phone instead of taking care of the patients. when he got home his bandage for the iv was drained in blood, the next day it looks bruised. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE

To be honest, I understand that it's an emergency room but the fact that I put a timer on for one and half hours watching the nurses and doctors assigned to me talk bs to each other and watch TikTok's blows my mind, think about to if you were getting service on your car or waiting for food at a restaurant wouldn't you get irritated?

Dispatched just told me; the only way we’ll give you 1st attention is if you don’t have a pulse! I was simply asking how busy they were tonight because I’m in horrific pain, can’t breath & coughing with what appears to be a respiratory infection. I did not want to make the trip at 10:30pm if no one there to take my chest X-ray! Horrible phone person. I’m so upset
I will say last time I was at Lenox Emergency on 7th, it was a good experience. So sad this was not the case today. Crying right now

I went to the e.r this afternoon for my sudden hearing loss confusion dizziness and trouble breathing. The nurses in the e.r. were very attentive and caring, however the e.r. doctor and head nurse told me that the e.r. is not a place for my kind of symptoms. They were constantly flipping words around as if interrogating me to see if i am exhibiting false statement on how i am feeling. Me in my confused state, thought the only thing to do was to leave because it felt like they were taking advantage of my confused state and hard of hearing. Instead of questioning my sincerity, they could have been able to offer help. I came in stressed out and the doctor fenessed a passive aggresive manipulating conversation instead of understanding the guy is confused and should start helping the patient. I wanted to be helped.
Not being subject to ridicule .The head nurse and e.r. doctor were speaking fast in different tones like to try to confuse me .(im already confused) If they read my file about my symptoms like they said they did, maybe they wouldve been speaking calmly and more understanding (like the nurses that put me in a confortable area to try to relax me)to be able to put the confused patients mind at ease so they will be able to explain to the doctor or head nurse of the e.r. answers that they are trying to seek. It put me into a hopeless state of mind and felt very unsafe in their facility once they told me that the e.r. is not for patients with my condition.( i was going deaf with head movement along with trouble breathing) i was told that they might not be able to find whats wrong and they would have to send me home ,which made me feel even more uneasy and scrared to entrust them with care.
Especially with going deaf and trouble breathing and being confused.it made me feel like they did not take me seriously and i was better off dead somewhere. I tried with them, but the head nurse and associates were persisant on a riddle of communication. The nurses are understanding, but the head nurses and doctors have dealt with a lot of negativity to the point their judgement seems to be impaired with their patients who need attention but are unable to comprehend on their level because of a confused state. which in my eyes is very dangerous and concerning. This kind of work ethic could cause potential life threatening matters to occur for anyone because they can send someone home to die like that.they might know their medicine but they need to be a little more conscious on how they are speaking to patients whom are concerned with their health to the point they went to the e.r. even if their symptoms were not life threatenening as the patient thought. That kind of practice inhibits a successful understanding and prone to unncessary mistakes that couldve been avoided. It also made me uneasy when i have realized the head nurse or physician assistant( i canrlt recall. I am still confused on who anyone was because of their communication pattern. They were Lying to me about reading through my history. Getting the symptoms and issues in past history confused with other visits and not what you are there for today. Once you start exhibiting a passive aggresive communication with anyone, you cant expect to get anywhere with who you are talking to when in a confused state and hard of hearing. I shut down. It felt hopeless.i became angry but too much in pain to show most of it.They tried giving me a number to a dr that would not accept my insurance.i know because i have reached out to the dr they were reffering me.

This took me hours to write because of my symptoms, but sometimes you have to go through pain to get your point across. I am not the only one with a 1 star review. This needs to be known about lennox hill's e.r. overlookers
