Worst experience ever.
It felt like jail.
There’s a strong stench in there that 10 showers couldn’t get off.
It’s so cold and they give you these thin sheets.
The food was so bad. There were NO BEDS. It was literally two hard seats put together for everyone to sleep on. I don’t know why they treat the mentally ill this way. Seriously they need to close that building and start over. SOME of the staff were nice but the rest treated everyone like they were better than them. & they were cursing at the patients. I wish I could post pictures but they take everything away from you. It’s like scared straight for mental health issues. I rather panic and stay depressed than go back to that place.

I will give 0 if I could to this hospital, because is so dirty, all bathrooms, the waiting room area, and the rooms for the patients are gross. Most of the Personal are rude or just care less. I feel so sad and angry to this government as well that not giving the priority to our mental health childreen, adolescents and our disabled citizens first, Providing them the help they need. ?

I’m here now with my autistic nonverbal grandkid and the service is horrible, they don’t look professional at all. Families with children with mental conditions go thru a lot and they make your day more miserable ? ?

The worst my son as brought in with a psychotic episode as he is autistic and they are rude they transferred my calls no one wants to talk to you get information from you I don’t understand how you treat a patient without getting history. Then when you call front desk hungs up has a nasty attitude . Just sad all around this are the people caring for the most vulnerable. I asked for charge nurse there is never one on duty like are you serious . This place is the worst

the short way to put my experience in this facility, which i’ve been to twice, is that it’s a literally disgusting facility. the psychiatrists/certain staff that work there are extremely apathetic to the real struggling of their patients, almost leaning towards contempt from my experience. i was brought to the Jacobi CPEP twice in 2019. the condition of the facility alone is really gross. it smells god awful, there were roaches, there were multiple stains in the interview rooms from i can’t imagine what. somewhat reminiscent of an asylum thriller film. the area where they keep the minors is pretty bad. they do not have comfortable seats, they have rock hard chairs that you will have to push together to sleep in if you stay overnight (minors sleep in the same area they sit in all day, no separate rooms if you’re under 18). according to a nurse who worked there, on days where there were too many kids, the sleeping arrangement was bad. id imagine it to be like when i came across the adult sitting area and a bunch of patients were sleeping on the floor and smooshed together because i suppose there weren’t enough rooms for all of them? the meat of the story was when i was told by a LICENSED psychiatrist that i must be “slow or autistic” because nobody who isn’t would harm themselves. she then pointed out that she works with “slow and autistic” kids so i should get tested because what i did was “very stupid” for a “seemingly smart girl”. i am none of those things, i have never been diagnosed as any of those things. she said i “DESERVE to stay 24 hours at least”. when i was brought back to the room with my parent i was bawling my eyes out, nothing came out of that “evaluation” besides her belittling an extremely vulnerable person. i could go on about things here but the review would be a book by the time i’m done. i’ve never heard good things from anybody who’s been here/stayed here, minor or not. please do yourself (or your child/family member) a favor and advocate to be taken to a different facility if it gets to that point. i highly doubt this place can serve its main purpose, which is to keep patients safe and get them more stabilized.
