The worst experience if your dying or in pain go elsewhere the ER staff are giggling and laughing also there is a 5 hour wait . Then you get to the room to wait another 5 hours then you have nurses that can't even draw blood poking you and then you yell to take it out and they say it's not enough blood well your hurting me what do you expect you to keep drawing blood when I'm in pain because clearly you cant do your job correctly. NOW my arm is all bruised and in more pain .

I came in for the treatment of chronic migraines that I had been experiencing. The doctors immediately wanted to give me a cocktail of drugs without knowing the root cause of why I had been experiencing the headaches to begin with. They told me the medications were perfectly safe and that "no one had any side effects from the cocktail in the last 16 years." They also didn't ask about my mental health history, and I have suffered from depression. They gave me Reglan which sent me into an uncontrollable anxiety attack. I've never had a chemically-induced anxiety attack, and it was one of the most frightening experiences I've ever had. No matter what they said or how much they tried to hold me down I genuinely could not stop what felt like fireworks setting off in my head. I had no control. I later found out that this medication had a black box warning-- which they had NEVER expressed to me beforehand despite my various questions about the safety of this cocktail and the risks.

This is the issue with doctors these days. They are lazy in trying to help people and they convince you to go on these medications that could end up making you dependent/a vegetable for life. Wouldn't recommend MGH ER services to anyone.

my partner and I came in on orders from their doctor at 7:30 pm. they did the initial intake and then we were ignored for 4 hours. we asked the woman at the front if there was any update and we were yelled at and told the ER was extremely busy and there were people ahead of us. another 3 hours goes by and finally our names were called but it was so they could retake vitals since we were there for so long. after 9 hours of waiting we both went up to ask for any kind of estimate as we were worried about trying another ER and starting all over again and everyone in the ER at this point had come in at least 5 hours after us. we went up and a security officer And he asked what we needed and we told him the situation and he laughed and said you gotta talk to the nurses who both were looking at me and immediately went back to their phones. we ended up leaving at 4:45 am to try to get a few hours of sleep at home before going to a different ER this morning. I can understand even a 5 hour wait at an ER under the right circumstances but this felt like they weren't taking my partners illness seriously and putting them through hell for no reason at all. at one point a nurse came up and asked who we were because no one had communicated with each other. I get this countries healthcare system is trash but be empathetic, you work in a hospital.

Wow. I had to give a star in order to write a review, but I give this ED a zero!! Please PLEASE go to an urgent care prior to this, or a smaller ED (if possible).. I waited 50 hours in the emergency needing EMERGENCY surgery. The infection got so bad (not being treated for DAYS at that point, spent so much time sitting in ED waiting surgery/antibiotics) that it spread to my heart, destroyed my kidneys, making me spend 9 grueling days admitted.... Please be very careful when coming here, do not wait until things are awful because you won't be seen for DAYS. & i highly suggest just going elsewhere, to urgent, or to a smaller ED. I have PTSD from this visit; I'm talking 3rd World type of stuff that I saw. If you plan on sticking it out, like I did for 50 hours, bring your own pillow & blanket, water, and snacks. You will be there for days, and you will be inna plastic chair for those days.
You'll thank me later...

Im surprised how a hospital this big, and which is considered “one of the best in the countries”, have such a bad staff. I just called asking for help finding an ER closest to me for the same branch, because I live far, and Google was only taking me to theirs. The lady on the phone replies in a rudely manner saying: “I don’t know, Google it. I know we are in Boston”. Like, what? I’m a patient seeking help?
Horrible service, honestly considering switching hospitals
