Photo after being here 1 month. You may have one or two caring workers, but when dealing with several female workers on the long-term unit, they did not care. Starved and used her insurance. Here is a photo of how thin a family member became at this hospital. She was in severe pain. The administration was not helpful, nor the patient advocate. Heartbreaking. ?

Staff seem nice and caring but facility looks to be in shambles, very unsanitary. Wife typically takes Xanax as prescribed via military doctor, in this situation she took a large amount of melatonin and their doctors wanted to commit her. First off, without those doctors actually knowing who I am and discussing my wife’s medical situation is a HIPAA violation on its own. Then they wanted to commit her against her own will. Again, she wasn’t coherent and legally I am her next of kin. Legally, nothing is to be done without my consent. No, 5150 or 5585. There’s no evidence of a mental illness. Ever. Especially in her situation. So many violations of HIPAA, This place is very shady, dirty, very unprofessional. They’ll discuss your private information in front of the world without a care. Was even told by the attending, “what are you going to do, sue me, go ahead, im a doctor my word over yours. Her name is I’m not even delving into the state of the building. The entire building needs mold remediation. This place needs to be shut down and quarantined. How is this place even safe. Shows you how much the medical field is a money grab.

Long read, info on NUMC, Nassau police EMT + Govt.:
Yrs. ago (still salty), we were taken to NUMC after a rollover. (Ambulatory at scene, car a 100% loss). NUMC not only failed to keep the 2 of us together (which I'd be less upset about by itself), except how they treated my passenger.:
1. Made him *stand up while waiting to be processed though he has a bad back, and couldn't even stand up straight.
(*Please read EMT section below)
2. He has claustrophobia and did not want to use their enclosed MRI machine. Dr. threatened to admit him for 5 days before they would be able to transfer him to Bellevue hospital in the Bronx w/an open MRI machine. They intentionally lied about the situation, mislead some other facts & made the proposed treatment so problematic, that they essentially forced him to leave, A.M.A. They maneuvered the situation so they wouldn't be responsible or have to deal w/him. One nurse was 100% helpful & the only reason for even 1 star, but there wasn't much she could do up against the Dr.
3. Never found the glass in his shoes he was walking on, I found it hours later. Yes, his feet were bleeding.

*To be fair, this was a failure of the Nassau police EMT who also made him walk onto the ambulance though they arrived on scene to find him holding onto a street sign to be able to stand, failed to seatbelt him en route to hosp., had him walk into the ER in shoes still filled w/broken glass, lied on my PCR saying he took 2 sets of vitals, had me flush my own eye of debris, & also tried billing us 2x for the same hosp. ride. (no, this isn't even everything)... but Google does not allow reviews of police, so I'm leaving this info here. The EMTs boss conveniently labeled my complaint as "he said/she said" & did zero to remedy the EMTs horrible actions.

P.S. Bonus FYI; learned that if one is hit by an employee of a Federal letter organization in a Federal vehicle, you can't sue even if you have contusions, abrasions, are bleeding or wind up w/years of recurring pains. You will probably recoup some $ for your vehicle, but the Federal govt. does not care about you the person. You have to have actual surgery & a special qualified lawyer to be able to even think of suing the govt.

If I could leave a negative review I would...been here with 9/10 pain for four going on five hours. Nurse could not get a line. Doctor keeps saying that someone will be over to do a ultra sound iv but I think their lying and waiting for day team at 7am update iv finally in but doctor thinks iv fluids are what are needed for pain. I have asked 3 times now for nausea and pain medication and get laughed at. I will be reporting them to the AMA on how they treat their paitents.

I’m so disgusted by the way, I was treated at this ER. I was brought to the ER because I was shot and robbed on my way home from work and I was treated so disgusting by the doctors. I was told to stop crying, medication they said they were going to send my pharmacy wasn’t sent. Every doctor had an attitude that I was waisting there time and mind you I just got shot and was very emotional. After being treated like dirt I was told to take the bus home. I would rather die than to ever go back to this hospital. No body forced you to become a doctor DR.KEVIN LIAO AND DR.AILEEN VIRELLA. You should be ashamed how you treated someone with a trauma
