I was nervous about taking my husband here after reading the reviews but when an emergency arises, traveling long distances isn’t an option. I have to say they exceed my expectations, the staff genuinely cared. My husband was in severe pain, kidney stones. He was taken in immediately and while it did take a little while to be seen, Dr. Frank was very good and attentive. Test were done in a reasonable timeframe and while we waited my husband was kept as comfortable as can be expected. We were out in under 5 hours and while that’s not a short time it’s understandable considering that emergency rooms are dealing with life and death situations. I never want to go to any emergency room but would return here if I had to, they took good care of my husband.

Front desk experience was amazing 5 stars. Once you are brought to the back a horror been sitting here for 3 hours so far and not one person has acknowledged us. He currently has a piece of metal in his eye

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I came in as recommended from citymd because of terrible lower abdominal pain (citymd said possible cyst rupture or appendix) and was told I’d get a cat scan and bloodwork. I waited 12 hours for a cat scan before telling them I’ll sign myself out and go elsewhere. 12 hours?! I wouldn’t bring my dog here. No pillow for the gurney, my IV bags at one point were left for 3 hours empty. In 12 hours, one person checked on me and that was the woman checking vitals. Not one single person came to check on me or anyone around me. Ridiculous. Save your time and your life and go anywhere but here. I’ll be taking my complaint further than this review.

Went in for abdominal pain. Like really really bad sharp pains that lasted for 2 days. Was there since 9, they gave me Tylenol at 1 and then they discharged me. I'm still in pain. I was so angry I cried. They didn't even try to tell me what was wrong. I had to ask them for a gastro referral. I shouldn't have to do that like you should be testing for everything. At this point I have to question is it because I'm black. Doctors don't take black women's pain seriously. I'm still in pain and still criying. I do believe they're just there to collect their paycheck and go. I just don't understand why these doctors don't care. I'm baffled. One of the PAs told me if the pain continues, I should come back. Why would I do that? For you to give me more Tylenol and tell me nothing is wrong and discharge me? This is the 2nd time I've been to this hospital in a week.

Only leaving 2 stars for northwell/southside emergency because of your amazing PA that worked on Sunday.Would have put less if it wasn’t for her hard work . I was there for a total of 4 hours waiting to see a dr for my eye . I’m a stoic person and although it was painful I didn’t complain much . I never saw a dr . Your Pa did stain my eye and did a pressure and had me read a chart. No one else examined me . There were 2 major issues that you need to fiixed . I was questioned which pharmacy I use but on Sunday at 7pm I found out it was closed . Only then did I know there was a 24 hr pharmacy a couple towns over . I would have gone to go treat my painful eye and by the way although I picked up the medication 8am Monday my eye had gotten still worse by mid day . I called an eye dr locally to re check and got an appointment 20 mins there and she found a scratch on my scalara .and Changed medication . I’m not one to usually complain but 4 hours and an mis diagnosis should be addressed . An eye dr to be called in would be even nicer ~ I know it’s my insurance but the 100$ co payment hurt on top of the 4 hours . Just know there is room for improvement for northwell . Thank you Mrs. Teresa Carroll
