If I could give this ER a 0 I would. I’ve gone 3xs to this place and all times it was a horrible experience. My son was puking in the waiting area and they wouldn’t help us. They had no provider and couldn’t tell me when he would be seen. We left and drove to Arlington heights NCH er for him to be seen. He right away was taken into a room and was given medicine for his puking and for his fever cause they wouldn’t do it at Libertyville. NEVER GOING BACK.

I called Linda in ER to find out what is happening with my sister. I was not rude at all. This is how they treat you in their emergency. She literally hung up on me. My sister is 66 years old and waiting for hours. He Dr told her this morning to get fluids immediately. I was pleasant and asking my questions. I could only hope they have this recorded. I aim to bring this to a manager etc. They have done this before to me while I was in their rooms with 2 broken legs. They do not listen at all. I had to have a policeman come and get me to be removed from their ER room.

I went into the ER for what I thought was kidney stones. Waited over 2 hours before I got what they call a room. It was some make shift room. There were screws on the floor, medical material on the floor. Clock was broken. It was smaller than my bed room closet. I wasn't offered a pillow, blanket. Nothing. I had to be given 3 different types of main meds and none of them worked. I was in so much pain. More than I have ever been in my life. It seemed I was bothering the nurse who was helping me. When I told him I felt nauseous, he didn't even get me anything to throw up in. Just left. I have never been so disappointed with the care I receive at condell. Such a joke.

Terrible. Waited over 2 hours for a simple ultra sound to see if my wife was having a miscarriage. Then didn't even let me go back with her. Just waiting with no news, info, or anything of my little child is alive or not. Unacceptable treatment of the father and husband.

Would’ve been a negative star if they offered it. Do not, I repeat do not take your family or your kids or your animals to Condell! I went in yesterday with all the symptoms of Appendicitis. The nurse and doctor treated me as if I was there only for pain meds, they rushed me out of there telling me they didn’t find anything. My blood pressure was 154/124. You tell me, I’m no brain surgeon. But fast-forward a day, I’m sitting at Lake Forest waiting for surgery due to appendicitis.

This could’ve ended very bad for me, I will definitely be seeking legal advice once this all is done and behind me.

No one likes to go to the ER, but this place is beyond terrible, uncomfortable, and drawn-out. The packed waiting room and extra-long wait times might be excused if I felt the nurses weren't avoiding eye contact with patients. Patients are an inconvenience.

If you want to sit in pain for half a day, have a call button that doesn't work, and have no idea what tests or meds are about to be administered you'll feel right at home in this shtshow. Think I'm kidding? I had to ask what was being injected into my IV. The one-word answer was short, terse, and unfamiliar.

If you're extra lucky, a nurse will repeatedly interrupt you and inform you "it's Monday" as if that's an excuse for ignoring patients. No, lady. It was Monday. Now it's Tuesday at 3:25 AM and I have no idea when I can get out of here. This ER is awful. You'll leave no better than when you were admitted. I am currently sitting in the ER and just read through other 1 star reviews to console myself. God willing, I will never be back here.

Random things I have heard since I signed in 10 hours ago:

"I didn't bring my puke bucket." (Patient, possibly, behind a curtain in the waiting room.)

"HELP!" (Man in hallway after trying to get assistance from nurses.)

"Things are always crazy on Monday." (Multiple nurses.)

"If you feel a vain, it's in there." (One nurse to another nurse.)

"What do you want me to do." (Nurse pointedly speaking to patient, 3:30 AM)

"I could actually cry." (Nurse, stated as a complaint, speaking to someone down the hall.)

"Think you can pee in this cup." (It's not a question, it's a command, and the nurse is already gone after handing you a cup. There is no other disclosure about why urine is needed or what test will be performed.)

7 hours. 7...hours...before I gave up and left. People who came hours before me were still in the waiting room. Mind boggling. There was a crying baby that came before me and was still there after me. Guy was literally bleeding for hours while his wife pleaded to no avail. Insane.

Do NOT take your people here! They do not care about you. At all. I went to the ER to ask them to swab my throat. I was experiencing, pain, weird crater type sores and everything online was pointing me to the dreaded cancer of the mouth. So I was having major anxiety. Went in they took my blood pressure, noted my concern and the Dr acted as if I was over reacting. I told him that didn't matter, I know that regardless, the earlier we catch anything like that the percentage of survival is much higher. So he said ok I we can take a swab and if anything shows, we will call you. They called 2 days later while I was on my way to my son's a couple hrs away. The charge nurse said that they could not do the test because the Dr used the wrong type swab for a good culture. That if I wanted, I could come back in to retest. I told her I was out of town for a few days. Told her that was the whole reason I went to them, told her my fears and she said she understood and for me to stop in as soon as I got into town. 5 days later while I'm on my way back, I called her and told her it was gone, that my throat was better so coming in wouldn't show anything. I was very upset because, this was the 2nd time I got these ulcer looking things in my throat and its scary to think of being told anything like, "If we caught it in time we might have been able to fight this but not at this stage". Thoughts you don't want to think about. She said that I shouldn't get billed. But guess what... I did. I got billed for the visit for them to do a culture of my throat which they screwed up on and could not test. But I got billed. After my insurance paid their part. I got billed $612 for there screw-up. For no test, for no results. Then going back and forth with them they said I was billed because I walked out with a prescription. A script I never picked up. Why would I take medication for something you think might be wrong. I got a culture, you don't even know what it is and you want to write a script. Look it up, I never picked it up! These people would charge you for a drink of water if you walk in their doors. They'll bill you for the air you breath if you walk in their building. And don't you dare drive by and look at the building. They'll bill you for that too. Unbelievable, disgusting and downright wrong. I'd rather die than walk in this hospital. Mistreated, taken advantage of and robbery is what they do. Shame on you!! Shame on you CondHELL
