Entering is terrible, the staff that receives you is supposed to help you feel a little relieved, at least you feel like they are helping you. It is terrible in this reception area, a lot of people trying to treat you badly, horrible women in their treatment of patients. Waiting for hours, I have felt the racism firsthand among the Hispanics most affected. It is not the first time since we do not know why the ambulance people tell them to take them to the other hospital, one ends up in the baystate to have a bad time with that staff who is so hostile even to children with autism. They should have people who really care and like customer service and that bunch of bitter old ladies don't put it in such a sensitive area. You have so many personnel without sensitivity to treat human beings.
Supervise more those front reception areas of the hospital, look at the treatment that these people give to people who come to wait dead hours with all kinds of physical suffering or situations of car accidents sitting in a chair for them to see it, it is very sad and embarrassing to others. We want to be treated like human beings, not like trash.... Now I'm going to give them an A in the area of doctors, not all of them, but the vast majority do behave like professionals in their area. But your reception was horrible. And their organization looks like a prison with long faces and horrible treatment.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting the emergency room, and I have to say it was one of the most dehumanizing and distasteful encounters I've ever had with a healthcare facility. The nurses, who are supposed to be the compassionate backbone of medical care, were anything but. Instead of offering empathy and support, they were dismissive and even condescending, treating patients like burdens rather than individuals in need of care.

One particular incident stood out when I witnessed a nurse openly humiliating a patient who was clearly in distress. Rather than offering comfort or assistance, she made sarcastic remarks and acted as though the patient’s pain was an inconvenience. This wasn’t an isolated case either—throughout my time there, it seemed like several of the staff members shared the same distasteful attitude.

Overall, the service is garbage, the care team is garbage and it was deeply disappointing to see a place that should be a sanctuary for those in pain turn into a space of embarrassment and belittlement. I hope that the hospital takes a serious look at the behavior of its nursing staff and works to restore the compassion that should be at the heart of emergency care. With that being said please hire nurses who actually care about their patients.

In the past I would be understanding to those in the medical field with staff shortages and such but this experience changed my mind entirely. If you have time to sit and yap with your coworkers while ignoring almost if not all your patients you don’t deserve my empathy.

Took an hour to get an X-ray for a possible fracture, 3 hours later, still waiting. Are there any actual doctors on?

Edit: Took 8 hours to finally be seen. The worst part isn’t even the lack of care that I received, but the lack of care shown to others waiting, including a gentleman rubbing his chest and complaining of chest pain after saying he had heart issues, a couple women with clearly broken ankles not even being offered ice packs while they wait, and a couple people vomiting on the floor with prolonged time cleaning it up (15-20 minutes after it happened, a “triage nurse” simply put pee pads down on the floor to cover it, with another hour passing before someone from environmental came by to clean it up). It was absolutely appalling what was (and most importantly wasn’t) happening. Someone was even refused water because “not everyone can get water.” You clearly need to do better.

0/100?sh*t
5 hours wait

My daughter is 3 years old, crying from her throat and fever. The employee passed our turn and admitted 6 other patients in front of us. I left the hospital without my child being seen by the doctor
