I am not really one to come to emergency rooms but I had to because I had a back injury. The emergency room staff is not attentive at all. The lady at the front was on her phone for half an hour before I could even check in. Very disappointed

Waited an hour before a nurse even arrived to check anyone in, then they made me give my personal information (including SSN) out loud with the doors open so everyone could hear. Called to ask a follow up question after I left and they just acted annoyed and hung up on me.

The first time last month my husband went here for detox from alcohol they were so good with him he was very sick was there for 8 days. This time around not good. Took him there Wed Aug 21 2024. He needed to detox and don't judge it's a disease. The next day after medicating him up they said they had no beds didn't help never called me and let him leave which turned out to be a nightmare he had no phone nothing. He was wondering the streets lost and confused ended up walking on a highway trying to find his way back to Warwick which led to him being picked up by state police and brought to Kent hospital by ambulance. This is unacceptable and un humane how dare they throw someone to the streets and not call me or pay for a Uber or Taxi to get him home. Don't judge a book by its cover. Maybe I need to reach out to my lawyer

The absolute worst emergency room you could walk into. Wait for hours in a room and no one comes. No one checks no one updates. The leadership team should do some undercover work and check themselves in and evaluate the process. It is so appalling. Choose another ER to go to if you are able to.

I wouldn't recommend coming here if you actually have an emergency. I waited for 6 hours to be seated or get a bed, neither happened. I came in around three thirty and left around nine thirty. When I still hadn't been seen.

They apparently don't allow anyone under 12 in so if your a single mom amd 1 kod needs to be seen u cant bring any others under 12 or your under 12 needs to be seen don't go here. Should be posted somewhere

And on top of it the waiting room looks empty...but you will still wait 10 hrs

Been waiting in the ED lobby with persistent needle like pain in my head for more than 4+ hours and still have not been seen by a doctor! They appear grossly understaffed and did not attend to my medical concerns as a patient.

When we came in this weekend for my husband’s fall and head injury, we were seen by the triage nurse and the ER doctor quickly, which was great. However, the exam was minimal, and Dr Hui wasn’t concerned about examining my husband’s skull, which we were concerned may be fractured (we could all see obvious lines on his forehead, not just swelling present) or he could have a subdural hematoma. The doctor said he was more concerned about the possibility of a heart attack, though my husband had no chest pain, no heart disease history, and no other signs/symptoms related to his heart. Dr Hui ordered chest rads and bloodwork - no ECG, no stress test, nothing else related to heart health; and no CT or any testing at all for the head injury. Why not have an ECG done if he was so concerned about heart attack?

We never saw a Dr after the initial exam/discussion, which was concerning. We received a text from Walgreens that my husband’s Rx’s were ready - but no one had spoken to us about the lab results, so we were perplexed. The phlebotomist gave my husband discharge paperwork about 2 hours after we knew there would be Rx’s to pick up. No discussion of what was found on x-ray. At no other hospital have either of us discussed results and follow-up questions with a phlebotomist. Is this really standard medical practice here?

Granted, we moved here from Washington DC, where we have some of the best hospitals in the country. But never in either my husband’s or my experience have we NOT discussed results with the doctor (or PA) before leaving the ER.

The lack of attention to my husband’s actual injury and concerns, and not being allowed further discussion with the doctor, was extremely worrisome. We will not return to this ER, and suggest others avoid it if they want appropriate medical care and attention.
